Now Hiring: Work Experience Opportunities Grants




CRFAIR is a not-for-profit community based organization that acts as a coordinating backbone to a network of food, farm and health organizations (The Good Food Network) working to promote healthy and sustainable food systems in the Capital Region. We work hand in hand with key partner Victoria Community Food Hub Society (VCFHS) in effort to ensure that food systems provide healthy food to the most vulnerable people in our community and to increase their resources, food skills and social connections for a healthier future. We have five (5) work experience placements available; these positions are funded with Work Experience Opportunities Grants from the BC Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation.


Areas of work available include: Community Programs, Events, Communications, Administrative, South Island FarmHub Warehouse & Production, Produce Box Delivery Driving


To be considered for a position, and due to the nature of the grants, applicants must be either

  • an individual qualified to receive BC income or disability assistance, or

  • qualified to receive assistance from a Treaty First Nation that is funded through the Federal Department of CrownIndigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada; or

  • qualified to receive assistance from a First Nation Administering Authority that administers an Income Assistance Program on behalf of Indigenous Services Canada.

Note: applicants do not need to be actively in receipt of income or disability assistance payments from the BC Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation (see BC social supports eligibility) or the Government of Canada.


For applicants who are receiving income assistance, the stipend associated with this position is exempt from BC income eligibility calculations and will not affect the eligibility of individuals participating. Individuals will need to declare the stipend to the ministry for tracking purposes.
