Meet a Maker: Lifecycles Project

The team from Lifecycles Project have been busy in the kitchen lately, making fresh cider from their rescued B-grade apples!

If you haven’t heard of Lifecycles, they’re a long-running (over 25 years) community organization with a mission to build a resilient food system in Greater Victoria by growing, harvesting, and sharing food. In addition to stewarding the Welland Community Orchard in View Royal, they run the Fruit Tree Project, harvesting fruit from trees all over the city.

It’s this rescued fruit that they’re bringing next door to Kitchen Connect, to process into juice, jams, and more!

Interested in trying some of their cider? Look for it in the South Island FarmHub shop—all funds raised from purchases will go toward supporting Lifecycles programs.
