Have you heard? Kitchen Connect is open! And on Friday, October 6, we celebrated.
Supporters, sponsors, farmers, food processors, volunteers, and valued community members gathered to mark the grand opening of the integrated food hub and the completion of the brand-new Kitchen Connect food business incubator and processing facility.
Located at 808 Viewfield Rd. in Esquimalt, the integrated food hub comprises the Mustard Seed Food Security Distribution Centre, South Island FarmHub, and Kitchen Connect. In the spring of this year, the FarmHub moved into its new packaging area of the warehouse, where we prepare your orders every week, and in September, Kitchen Connect opened its doors.
The space provides a rentable state-of-the-art VIHA-certified commercial kitchen where South Island food producers and farmers can hold workshops, trainings, and create their products.
The event was a true celebration of food and community, and of how working collaboratively can propel a vision to completion. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported this initiative.🍴
